Number of population of the South-Kazakhstan region for 01.01.2010 is - 2429,6 thous. person, including women of fertile age - 639,8 thousand, children - 803,5 thousand, teenagers - 153,8 thousand.
Medical-demographic index of the South-Kazakhstan region for 5 months of 2010: birth rate -9,97 (2009- 10,07), natural increase -8,3 (2009 -8,2), death-rate - 1,7 (1,8).
Medical care to the population of the South-Kazakhstan region is rendered by:
- 249 ambulatory - polyclinic organizations, including 38 polyclinics, 21 centres of the FMC, 168 medical dispensaries, 8 household- medical dispensaries, , 517 medical points;
- 121 hospital organizations, including 48 rural hospitals.
The bunk fund of the region is 13262 bunks, the index of supply - 51,9.
In the system of the public health of the region 7107 doctors work, (the supply- 26,9) and 19009 medical nurses, supply - 78,2 for the 10 thousand people.

Budget of the public health for 2010г. has formed 34135211,0 thousand tenge. LB - 23528439,0. DB -10606772,0 thousand tenge.
From the LB the construction of 5 objects of public health are being done for the general amount of 3857320,0 thousand tenge. At the expense of the LB 81 objects are being done, for the general amount of 3671262,0 thousand tenge.
The heavy repair of 1 object from the LB is conducted for amount of 52737,0 thousand tenge.
Within the framework of realization of the Program "Roadmap" 29 objects for amount of 3105870,0 thousand tenge.
Leading indexes on priority directions of the public health:
The index of maternal death-rate for 5months of 2010 forms 38,3 (9 women) on 100 thousand of live-borned ones, which is less than the index of maternal death-rate for similar period of 2009, 25,8 (6 women). The index of infantile death-rate fell till 21,5 for 1000 live-born (648 children) against 22,8 for 5 months of 2009 (677 children). With the purpose of reduction of maternal and infantile death-rate in the region the regionalizalion of perinatal help is introduced, 3 perinatal centres are created. The medical- genetic centre is opened, 36 cabinets of healthy child are organized.
The index of diseases by tuberculosis has formed for 5 months of 2010 - 26,98% (690) against 26,98 (676) for 100 thousand people for similar period of 2009. Death-rate from tuberculosis in comparison with 2009 fell on 2,1% and has formed in 2010 - 2,2 for 100 thousand people against 4,3 accordingly.
It is conducted the re-structuring of antituberculous service: a division of flow of sick in antituberculous organizations according to the forms of disease. Improvement of the material and technical base of the bacteriological laboratories. At the expense of the republican budget a construction of the new antituberculous clinics of the Arys, Otrar and Sairam districts are finished.
The index of diseases by the disease of systems of blood circulation has formed 7,8% against 7,6% in 2009. Improvement of delectability is connected with undertaking of screening daily inspections of the population on early discovery of heartily- vascular diseases. With the purpose of the reduction of death-rate from diseases of the system of blood circulation, within the framework of performance of the branch Program the outpatients with IBS, AG are provided by favourable medicinal preparations, the thrombolytic therapy at heart attack of the myocardium in a step of rendering of the fast medical help is practised. The index of diseases by the dysentery increased on 2 events (2010-1,49 against 2009-1,60). The diseases by viral hepatitis fell - till 0,04% times in 2010- 23,34% against 26,38% in 2009. By brucellosis - in 15,2% times, in 2010 - 8,56% (219) against 10,10% (253) in 2009. The growing of the index of diseases by echinococcosis is felt till 6,22% (159) against 6,19% (155) in 2009. It is increased the amount of the KCHF- till 10,39% (10 events) against 0 events for 5 months in 2009. Furiousness - fell till 0 events against 0,04% (1 event) in 2009. Disease by influenza - fell in 3,5 times 0,55% (14) against 1,92% (48) in 2009. Disease by syphilis fell on 21,7 % in 2010- 10,09% (258) against 12,89% (323) for 5 months of 2009.
Number of the carriers of HIV -infections revealled during the 5 months of 2010 fell on 42,4% and has formed 2,62% (67) of the person against (4,55%) 114 events for 5 months of 2009. Number of the diseases, caused by the HIV is 47 events that is lower than during the 5 months of the past year- 1,7 times.
